PAPUA - In a heartwarming example of community collaboration, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, operating under TNI’s HABEMA Command, joined hands with the residents of Aisa Village in Aifat Timur District to tackle a critical health concern. Together, they carried out a comprehensive fogging operation to eliminate dengue fever mosquitoes, underscoring the shared commitment to improving living conditions in the region.

Led by Second Lieutenant Puji Handoko from Kamat Post, the initiative was the result of thorough Social Communication (Komsos) with community figures who recognized the importance of this preventive measure. Following their discussions, the fogging operation was scheduled and conducted with full community participation, transforming the effort into a powerful symbol of unity.

As the fogging commenced, the vibrant spirit of cooperation between the soldiers and villagers was palpable. From preparing the equipment to covering every corner of the village, both parties worked tirelessly to ensure success. The results were immediate and celebrated by the locals, including community leader Mr. Lukas Waymbewer, who expressed heartfelt gratitude: “Thank you, Commander 501. The environment is free of mosquitoes now. God bless you.”

Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, Commander of the 501 Task Forces, highlighted the significance of addressing community needs as part of the TNI’s mission. "Our commitment is not only to ensure security but also to actively support the well-being and development of the communities we serve, " he stated.

Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, HABEMA’s Commanding General, praised the initiative, emphasizing its broader impact. "This collaborative effort exemplifies TNI’s dedication to inclusivity and meaningful engagement with local communities, contributing significantly to the development and health of the Papua region, " he remarked.

The fogging activity marked a milestone in the partnership between TNI forces and the Aisa community. Beyond improving health, it strengthened bonds, fostered trust, and demonstrated the power of shared responsibility. This initiative reflects TNI’s role not just as protectors of the nation but as partners in the progress and prosperity of its people.

With this successful collaboration, Aisa Village sets a shining example of how communities and their defenders can work hand in hand to overcome challenges, laying the foundation for a healthier, brighter future for Papua.
