INTAN JAYA - In a heartfelt display of care and commitment, the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad Task Forces, operating under the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, extended free health services to the residents of Bilogai Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. This initiative, carried out on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, by the Bilogai Post team led by First Lieutenant Abdian Mardhani, addressed pressing healthcare challenges faced by the community.
The "Free Health Treatment" program, spearheaded by the 509 Task Forces, included medical check-ups, treatment for common ailments, provision of essential vitamins, and health education promoting cleanliness and a healthy lifestyle. The initiative is part of the Task Forces' routine operations, focusing not only on security but also on improving the well-being of local communities.
Residents of Bilogai enthusiastically participated in the program. Among them was Mama Ever Turnib, who sought treatment for flu symptoms. Expressing her appreciation after receiving medication and vitamins, she shared, "Thank you, Commander 509. I feel better now. God bless."
Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, commended the efforts, saying, "The 509 Task Forces' initiative to provide free health treatment reflects TNI’s dedication to addressing the community’s basic needs, supporting the acceleration of development in the Papua region. This activity not only uplifts the health of residents but also strengthens bonds of trust and unity between TNI and the local community."
Such initiatives underscore the TNI's multifaceted role in Papua, combining security efforts with meaningful contributions to the community's welfare. By addressing critical issues like healthcare, the Task Forces are fostering hope and paving the way for sustainable development in the region.
