INTAN JAYA - Demonstrating unwavering empathy, the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad Task Forces, operating under the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, extended their care and support to the residents of Sambili Village in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, the Holomama Post, led by First Lieutenant Wanianto, stepped forward to assist Mr. Simon Wanimbo, a grieving villager who had recently lost a relative.
Acknowledging the emotional and material needs of the community, the 509 Task Forces, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, emphasized the importance of proactive engagement with local residents. Upon learning of Mr. Wanimbo's situation, the Soldiers responded by offering solace and providing a package of basic necessities to ease his burden.
The thoughtful gesture forged a deeper bond between the Soldiers and the Sambili residents, exemplifying the inclusive approach of the TNI. Mr. Simon Wanimbo expressed his gratitude, saying, "Praise God, thank you, Commander 509. God bless.”
The initiative reflects the broader vision of the HABEMA Command, where fostering trust and solidarity with the local community is a priority. Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the HABEMA Commanding General, lauded the effort, stating, “The 509 Task Forces’ outreach to Sambili residents showcases TNI’s unwavering commitment to inclusive social communication and community support. This approach is vital in advancing Papua’s development while strengthening bonds of trust.”
This heartfelt action underscores the TNI’s mission to ensure not only security but also compassion and care in their service to Papua. Such acts of kindness contribute significantly to creating a harmonious environment where progress and hope can flourish.
